What explains the spread in price
- Duration. Three weeks costs more than two, and the longer plan is not always the wiser one.
- Attention. A trainer handling several dogs at once can give each dog fewer minutes than a smaller operation.
- Rest arrangements. Ask where the dog sleeps, and whether that space is cooled in summer and warm in winter.
- The finish. Some prices include owner lessons, and some bill them separately.
- Extras, such as updates through the week, transport or a written plan for the first month.

Good questions
Before you begin.
Is there a best time of year for a stay?
Many owners like spring and fall, when the weather is mild. Summer heat and holiday travel can complicate things, so ask how any program handles each.
What is a typical day like?
A few brief sessions separated by meals, walks, play and quiet time. Request a sample schedule and the number of daily rest hours.
Can I look around beforehand?
Many trainers allow a walk-through or a video call. Look at where the dogs sleep, how they are kept apart and how the trainer treats an uncertain dog.
What if the dog gets sick midway?
Ask for the policy on veterinary care, costs and refunds in writing before you leave the dog.
